ZARENA Hosts China Delegation

ZARENA was honoured to host a delegation from China, led by Mr Chenkai Wang comprising representatives from various clean cooking manufacturing companies and the CHINA ALLIANCE FOR CLEAN STOVES (CACS).The visit focused on understanding the clean cooking landscape in Zambia, with special interest in exploring opportunities for private sector–to–private sector collaboration.

The meeting also brought together key stakeholders like Prof.Francis Yamba Yamba and Ms. Nancy Serenje Ng’oma from CEEEZ fostering a dynamic platform for dialogue on Zambia–China South–South cooperation in the energy sector.

ZARENA Team led by Eng.Dr. Kakoma Chilala – Bowa and Eng.Chikuku Katebe shared insights on the country’s clean cooking realities ,highlighting the challenges of overdependence on charcoal, limited access to financing for local manufacturers, and the urgent need for innovative, scalable solutions.

As the discussions unfold, ZARENA is excited to tap into the global expertise and opportunities within the clean cooking ecosystem to support its members and strengthen partnerships that advance sustainable, inclusive energy access for all.
